Captive Power History

The concern of Industrial businesses is to get reliable power at competitive pricing to power their operations and maximize “bottom line”, but the problem is; the power from the grid and distribution utility is not very reliable and subject to intermittency, which in the final analysis becomes expensive since it will normally have to be backed up diesel power generation which is comparatively expensive power source. The intermittency of Grid power also does not allow industries to plan its operations or production schedules properly which sometimes presents challenges at a great cost.

It is against this background that J&P ENGINEERING CO LTD and ECOIMPEX GH LTD together with its partners (THE CONSORTIUM) found an opportunity in the power generation and decided to venture into Captive power generation.

In the year 2019, the Consortium gave birth to an entity CAPTIVE ENERGY COMPANY LTD (CECOL) as a vehicle to become an IPP to implement and operate its power generation business in Ghana and across West Africa.

CECOL was founded on the dream of “delivering energy in the most convenient way to enrich lives”, with a team dedicated to this purpose. We deliver energy solutions that are economically affordable and environmentally responsible with rigorous safety requirements and procedures in handling power to the consumers.
